Lots and lots of help from my boyfriend on this one!

Custom-fitted glove made of garment leather, intended in theory to protect my hand and arm from arrow fletching and bowstring.

I am so happy with the way this came out! I was thrilled when I'd progressed from the patterning stage to something that could be worn. It fits like... well, it fits like a glove!

Love the look on this glove. It's a nice change of pace from the usual leather gauntlet and looks like it would fit the bill for anyone of a ranger/rouge persuasion. Great work!

It looks awesome!

Though I hope you're not going to use it with a strong bow. The leather looks too thin to protect you from the string when not holding your arm correctly...it's pretty painful when it hits your lower arm, I'd make a second layer at the parts where it could hit you if you haven't done it already. :)

You're right, I'd probably have to reinforce it for heavier bows, or if I used it all the time. I made it for a LARP, and the bows must have a draw weight of 35 pounds or less at 28 inches draw. I shoot rarely, but I don't think I've hit myself yet to test this. :D

35? The conventions I was at had the limit on 30 pounds and me and friends hat very nasty blue marks on our arms, I'd suggest you rather to take more care than necessary than looking like someone beat you up. XD
Remember, if the string hits you just once it will already hurt a lot. ;)

Yes, I know it does hurt a lot and bruises beautifully... :/

Alright, I see you don't lack the experience. XD
I thought you might not tried it out yet, that's why I wanted to warn you just in case. XD

I haven't yet had the joy (or sorrow) of seeing how the bow hurts while wearing this glove. So you may be right that I need thicker leather on the inside of my arm. :)

Thanks for the compliment! But no, sorry! I'd rather not try and give out a pattern, as it was drafted from scratch. You may be able to achieve something similar by modifying an existing glove to add a gore and some D-rings, though. :)
